  • Establish solid, results-producing management and leadership practices.
  • Get past your current set of limitations and work from your strengths.
  • Get others to change.
  • Motivate others and have them maintain it.
  • Deal more effectively with the difficult stuff.
  • Get ideas, inspiration and support from others who have answers.

If this is an accurate picture of where you are in your management and leadership pathway and where you want to go, The Coach Approach to Leadership & Management Program may be for you.

How you will become personally more effective

This program is designed to support you in implementing your management and leadership plans and aspirations. It consists of an initial two-day (or equivalent) intensive followed by 3 months of professional coaching and mentoring. Imagine if you accomplished the following in your business:

  1. You’ll make better decisions. This is one of the reasons you get paid - to make important decisions. What if you could ensure the decisions you did make were more robust and more likely to produce a better outcome – what would that be worth to your business, not to mention your career?
  2. You’ll put your new learning into action more consistently. It’s one thing to know what using a coaching approach can deliver, but quite another to use it to good effect. We’ll get you taking consistent actions based on using more of a coaching approach in conversations, meetings, negotiations, performance reviews, interviews and client and stakeholder management challenges.
  3. You’ll take all your leadership to a more refined level. The more you fine-tune and refine the way you lead, the better it works. You’ll take the steps necessary to use the models we will teach you that consistently attract better results.
  4. You’ll make a bigger contribution to your clients. We put a lot of focus into understanding your services so that you are geared to produce outcomes that are more highly valued and more in demand.
  5. You’ll take risks and go past current limitations. You can’t keep doing what you’re doing and expect different results. We’ll support you in stepping outside your box and doing things you’ve always wanted to do but have avoided up to now.
  6. You’ll generate more creative ideas and plans that will lead to breakthroughs in the way you both conduct and manage your business.
  7. You’ll create more balance and power in your personal and professional life. What if you had more time for your family, holidays and outside interests while your business / team thrived? We’ll give you tools and support to make your role and responsibilities a joy, not a burden.

Structure of the Coach Approach to Leadership & Management Program

At the heart of this program is a comprehensive and well researched set of competencies which is introduced through workshop, seminar and online learning formats, delivered over four months, complemented by mentor coaching and frequent support calls individually and with your group.

Overview:

  • Initial 18-hour program delivered over three days or in other flexible delivery formats.
  • Four months of coaching support and professional mentoring.
  • A follow up one-day consolidation workshop.
  • Three group teleclasses of 1.5 hours each – focused on you delivering coaching within the workplace, both at an individual level and as an introduction to you using a coaching approach in working with and leading high performing teams.

There are three phases to the program:

  1. Coaching approach – gaining increased insight and awareness.
  2. Leadership development – effecting greater achievement and accomplishment.
  3. Practical application – achieving personal change based on deeper understandings.

The outcome you can expect

The outcome of this process is to have you emerge more naturally as a leader in your own right. The aim is for you to integrate coaching practices into your everyday leadership, having drawn the important distinction: leadership is accomplishment oriented, while coaching is insight oriented. Each practice is distinct from the other, but each also enhances the other. Adopting a coaching approach will reveal unseen mental and organisational barriers to higher performance. Developing effective leadership organises the operation into new efforts to work from the new insights. You will not be leading all the time, and you will not be coaching all the time; but you will learn to be ready to do both at any time.

The mindset you utilise in each discipline will be different: the action aspect of leadership vs the insight bias of coaching. Weaving both into your leadership style will create a powerful package, enabling you to operate with impact in every moment, because every moment in business requires either insight or action.
